Romans 1:18-20 ESV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:18–20 reminds us that God has not left humanity without evidence of who He is. His power, wisdom, and divine nature are displayed throughout creation, making the world around us a continual testimony to its Creator. Yet Paul also warns that people can suppress this truth, choosing to ignore what God has made plain.
For believers, this passage should produce both worship and urgency. Creation should continually turn our attention toward God with gratitude and awe, while also reminding us that knowing about God is not the same as being reconciled to Him. We are called not only to recognize His fingerprints in creation, but to respond to Him in faith, obedience, and worship—and to faithfully point others to the fuller revelation of God found in Jesus Christ.
