Proverbs 7:1–2 reminds us that God’s Word is not meant merely to be heard—it is meant to be treasured, remembered, and obeyed. When Scripture becomes something we store deeply within our hearts, it begins to shape our choices before temptation or difficulty arrives. God’s commands are not burdensome restrictions; they are loving boundaries designed to protect us and lead us into life.

For believers, the practical challenge is to keep God’s truth close enough that it influences our everyday decisions. “Keep my teaching as the apple of your eye” speaks of guarding Scripture as something precious. The more intentionally we read, remember, and live by God’s Word, the better prepared we are to recognize what is wrong and choose what honors Him.
