Proverbs 17:15 warns against distorting right and wrong—excusing what is sinful while condemning what is just. God values truth and justice, so believers are called to resist the temptation to redefine morality based on convenience, personal loyalty, cultural pressure, or self-interest. Grace never requires us to call evil good, and righteousness should never be treated as something shameful.

Practically, this challenges believers to judge situations by God’s truth rather than personal preference. We should be honest about our own sin, avoid defending wrongdoing simply because it involves someone we like, and be careful not to criticize people who are trying to do what is right. At the same time, truth should be expressed with humility and compassion. A faithful Christian life holds truth and grace together—standing firmly for what God calls right while treating every person with dignity and love.
