Luke 12:22-23 ESV
And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
In Luke 12:22–23, Jesus tells His disciples not to be consumed by worry over everyday needs such as food and clothing. He is not dismissing those needs; He is reminding us that life is bigger than the things we spend so much energy trying to secure. The God who gave us life can also be trusted with what is necessary to sustain it.
For believers, this is an invitation to replace anxiety with trust. We should plan responsibly, work diligently, and care for our responsibilities—but without allowing uncertainty to dominate our hearts. When worry begins to take over, we can return to a simple truth: our security ultimately rests not in what we possess or control, but in the faithful God who knows what we need.
