Psalm 59:16 ESV
But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Psalm 59:16 reminds us that even when life feels threatening, uncertain, or overwhelming, God remains a safe place to run. David speaks of singing about God’s strength and celebrating His steadfast love “in the morning.” The night may represent fear, conflict, or waiting, but morning brings the reminder that God carried him through. Our confidence does not come from having every problem resolved; it comes from knowing that God is faithful in the middle of the problem.
This verse encourages us to begin each day by remembering who God has already proven Himself to be: our strength, our refuge, and our faithful protector. Instead of allowing yesterday’s worries to set the tone for today, we can choose worship. The circumstances may not have changed overnight, but neither has God’s steadfast love.
