Psalm 25:4-5 ESV
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
Psalm 25:4–5 is a prayer of humble dependence: “Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me.” David is not simply asking God to bless the direction he has already chosen; he is asking God to show him the direction in the first place. That requires a willing heart—one that is prepared not only to hear God’s guidance, but also to change course when necessary.
The closing thought, “for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long,” reminds us why we can trust His leading. We do not have to understand every step before we take it. Our confidence rests in the character of the One guiding us. Faith means seeking God’s way, submitting to His truth, and trusting Him throughout the day—even when the path ahead is not yet clear.
