Hebrews 13:1-2 ESV

Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Hebrews 13:1–2 reminds us that genuine faith is expressed in the way we treat people. Brotherly love is not merely a feeling toward those closest to us; it is a continuing commitment to care for others with compassion, generosity, and grace. The call to show hospitality to strangers challenges us to look beyond our familiar circles and remain open to the people God places in our path. We may never fully know how God is working through a simple act of kindness.

For believers today, these verses invite us to make love and hospitality part of our everyday walk with Christ. A conversation, an invitation, practical assistance, or simply taking time to notice someone can become an opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus. We should live with our eyes open, recognizing that ordinary encounters may carry extraordinary spiritual significance.

Application: Ask God today to help you notice someone you might normally overlook—and then intentionally show that person the love and kindness of Christ.
