Romans 6:4 ESV
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4 reminds us that salvation is more than the forgiveness of our sins—it is the beginning of a new life. Through our union with Christ in His death and resurrection, our old way of living no longer defines us. Just as Christ was raised by the glory of the Father, believers are called to “walk in newness of life,” reflecting a transformed heart through daily obedience, holiness, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. This verse challenges us to ask whether our lives display the reality of that resurrection power. While we still struggle with sin, we are no longer its slaves. Each day presents an opportunity to leave behind old patterns and embrace the life Christ has given us. The resurrection is not only our future hope—it is the present power that enables us to live differently today, bringing glory to God through a life that increasingly resembles Jesus.
