Daily Verse

1 Timothy 1:12 reminds us that God does not call the qualified—He qualifies those He calls. Paul begins with gratitude, saying, “I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service.” Paul knew his past failures, persecution of believers, and shortcomings, yet he stood amazed that Christ would both strengthen and entrust him with ministry.

For believers today, this verse is an encouragement that our usefulness to God is not based on a perfect past but on Christ’s power and grace. When God calls us to serve, He provides the strength we need. Instead of focusing on our inadequacies, we can respond with humility and gratitude, trusting that the One who appoints us is also faithful to sustain us.
