Romans 8:24-25 ESV
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 8:24–25 reminds us that biblical hope is not wishful thinking—it is confident trust in what God has promised, even when we cannot yet see it. Paul writes, “Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?” Our faith journey often includes waiting: waiting for healing, direction, answered prayer, or the full redemption God has promised. Yet hope grows strongest in the unseen places where trust is required.
Paul encourages believers to “wait for it with patience.” This patience is not passive resignation, but steady perseverance rooted in confidence that God is faithful. Even when circumstances feel uncertain, we can hold onto the assurance that God is still at work, shaping us and preparing what He has promised in His perfect timing.
