Romans 8:10 ESV
But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Romans 8:10 reminds believers of a powerful truth: even though our physical bodies are still affected by sin and mortality, life through Christ has already begun within us. Paul acknowledges the reality that we still live in fragile, imperfect bodies, yet because Christ dwells in us, the Holy Spirit gives us true spiritual life and righteousness. Our circumstances may not always change immediately, but our identity has changed completely.
This verse encourages us to live with hope and confidence. When we feel weak, discouraged, or burdened by our shortcomings, we can remember that God’s Spirit is actively at work within us. The same Spirit that gives spiritual life today is preparing us for the fullness of life to come, calling us to walk daily in obedience, faith, and dependence on Christ.
