Psalm 37:18-19 ESV
The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever; they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance.
These verses remind believers that God is fully aware of the lives, struggles, and future of those who seek to walk faithfully with Him. “The Lord knows” is deeply personal—God is not distant or unaware of our circumstances. Even when life feels uncertain, difficult, or unfair, He sees, sustains, and preserves His people.
The promise is not that faithful people will never face hardship, but that they will not be abandoned in hardship. In “evil times” and seasons of lack, God remains a faithful provider. Whether through His provision, peace, wisdom, or the support of others, He sustains His people. This passage calls us to trust God’s care rather than fear uncertain circumstances.
Practical Application: When facing anxiety about the future, finances, health, or difficult seasons, pause and remember that God already knows your days. Spend time in prayer asking Him to replace fear with trust, and intentionally recall ways He has provided for you in the past. Faith grows when we remember His faithfulness.
