Titus 2:7-8 ESV
Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
In Titus 2:7–8, Paul calls believers—especially leaders—to live lives that reinforce the truth they teach. Integrity, dignity, and sound speech are not optional add-ons; they are the evidence that the message of Christ has taken root. It’s a reminder that people are always watching, and the credibility of our witness is shaped as much by our conduct as by our words.
This passage pushes against careless living and empty talk. If our lives contradict what we claim to believe, the message loses its weight. But when our character aligns with truth—steady, sincere, and disciplined—it silences criticism and points others toward Christ. The goal isn’t perfection, but consistency: a life that steadily reflects the transforming power of the gospel.
