Proverbs 3:1-2 ESV
My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
Proverbs 3:1–2 reminds us that God’s wisdom is not meant to remain merely in our minds but to be carried in our hearts and lived out in our daily choices. The writer urges, “Do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,” showing that obedience flows from a heart that values God’s truth. When God’s instruction shapes our thinking and actions, it leads to “length of days and years of life and peace.” This does not promise a trouble-free life, but it highlights that living according to God’s wisdom brings stability, direction, and a deeper sense of peace.
For believers today, this passage challenges us to consistently remember and apply God’s Word. Practically, that means regularly reading Scripture, reflecting on it, and allowing it to guide our decisions, attitudes, and relationships. When God’s truth becomes the foundation of our lives, it produces a steady path marked by wisdom and the peace that comes from walking in alignment with Him.
