Romans 5:1-2 ESV
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1–2 reminds us that justification by faith is not just a theological idea—it is a life-altering reality. Because we have been declared righteous through faith in Christ, we now have peace with God. This peace is not based on our performance, emotions, or circumstances, but on a restored relationship secured by Jesus. The hostility that once existed between us and God has been removed, replaced with reconciliation and calm assurance.
Not only that, but we are given access into grace—a standing, not a temporary visit. We don’t drift in and out of God’s favor; we stand firmly in it. And from that position, we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory. Even when life feels uncertain, this passage calls us to anchor ourselves in what is already settled: we are at peace with God, we are held in His grace, and our future is filled with His glory.
