Psalm 37:7 ESV
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
In a world where success often seems to favor the dishonest or self-promoting, the psalm reminds us that God’s people are not called to anxious comparison or frustration. Instead, we are invited to quiet trust. Being “still” before the Lord means surrendering our urge to control outcomes and resting in the confidence that God sees, judges rightly, and works in His timing. Rather than being consumed with the temporary prosperity of others, believers are called to patient faith—trusting that the Lord’s justice and faithfulness will ultimately prevail.
