1 Corinthians 2:15-16 ESV
The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”
In 1 Corinthians 2:15–16 (ESV), Paul reminds believers that “the spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one… ‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” This is not a call to arrogance but to alignment. The one who has the Spirit sees differently—not through the lens of culture, preference, or emotion, but through the truth revealed in Christ. Spiritual discernment flows from intimacy with Jesus. It is formed as we surrender our thinking to Him.
To have the “mind of Christ” means our attitudes, priorities, and responses are shaped by the gospel. We evaluate ideas, decisions, and even our own motives according to God’s wisdom rather than human applause. That requires humility and continual renewal. The question for us is simple but searching: Are we letting Christ shape how we think, or are we trying to fit Him into how we already think?
