Isaiah 61:10 ESV
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah’s joy flows from what God has done, not from what he has achieved. He rejoices because the Lord has clothed him with garments of salvation and wrapped him in a robe of righteousness. This is a picture of grace—God covering His people with what they could never provide for themselves.
For believers, Isaiah 61:10 reminds us that our identity and confidence come from God’s saving work. We stand before Him not in our own merit, but fully dressed in His righteousness. This truth leads to deep joy and gratitude, shaping lives that reflect praise, humility, and worship in response to God’s redeeming love.
