Matthew 7:13-14 ESV

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Jesus reminds us that the path to life is not found in following the crowd, but in faithful obedience to Him. The wide gate is appealing because it demands little and affirms what is popular, yet it leads away from God. The narrow gate, though more difficult, leads to true life because it requires repentance, humility, and trust in Christ.

This passage calls believers to intentional discipleship. Walking the narrow way means choosing God’s truth over convenience and faithfulness over comfort. Though few find it, those who do discover that the narrow road—shaped by obedience and dependence on Christ—leads to life that is both eternal and deeply meaningful.
