Mark 1:35 ESV
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
For believers, particularly today, Mark 1:35 challenges our inherent tendency to equate busyness with faithfulness. In a culture that is characterized by constant “noise” and a consistent, often overwhelming sense of urgency, intentional withdrawal for a time of prayer is essential for maintaining spiritual clarity and strength. Following Jesus’ example means carving out regular, protected time to be with God—especially when life feels most demanding. Prayer realigns our hearts with God’s will, renews our dependence on Him, and ensures that our service flows from our intimacy with him rather than a sense of obligation and self-reliance.
