Daily Verse

Often called the protoevangelium—the first announcement of the gospel—this verse introduces the hope of Advent at the very moment of humanity’s fall. In the midst of judgment, God promises a coming offspring who will ultimately defeat the serpent, pointing forward to Christ’s victory over sin and death. Advent invites us to wait in hope, remembering that from the beginning God was already preparing redemption through the coming Savior.
