Isaiah 40:9 ESV
Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!”
This verse captures several key Advent themes: good news, expectation, divine arrival, and joyful proclamation. While Isaiah spoke originally to a people longing for comfort and restoration, Christians read this passage with a Christ-centered focus, anticipating and celebrating the coming of Jesus—the fullest revelation of God to His people.
